Cebu Pacific Offering Fights to Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and Bangkok from Clark Airport

Clark Freeport - Friday, September 5, 2008 - Clark Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) is ready for expanded international air service with direct flights to Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and Bangkok. Yes, starting November 8, 2008 Cebu Pacific is planning to offer these locations from Clark to the large contingent of potential customers in the Central Luzon region including the provinces of Tarlac, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija and Pampanga.

Many are surprised at this announcement given high fuel costs and a world economic environment that’s anything but robust. But Cebu can now claim the distinction of becoming the first Philippine airline to fly to international destinations from the Clark Airport. Their projections show the company to top the 7 million passenger milestone this year from 5.3 million last year. Cebu is ordering 5 new aircraft to help facilitate the increased passenger load, adding to its existing fleet of 25 planes.

It appears as if Cebu is banking on, not only the fact that the region is the second most prosperous area in the Philippines, but moreover looking towards recent large, business investment and growth in the Clark and Subic Freeport Zones with mega-companies such as Texas Instruments, Samsung and Hangin laying-down huge production facilities. These multi-nationals will employ literally 10s-of-thousands of workers with associated rise of support companies taking part in the economic-expansion. All of these workers are potential customers who will be looking for reasonably-priced vacations to short-hop Asia locations at budget fares.

Cebu Pacific's entry into Clark makes it the first Philippine airline to offer international flights from the airport, and the second local carrier to come into Clark after Seair. Other international airlines in Clark include Tiger Airlines, Air Asia and Asiana Airlines.

With daily flights to Hong Kong and Singapore, four weekly flights to Macau and three to Bangkok, Cebu is really opening-up the skies to millions of potential travelers from other prosperous, close-proximity countries. At Clark Subic Marketing, as a promoter and partner with the many hotels, resorts and amusement facilities in the area, we look forward to these flight-services bringing numerous new international customers to the Leisure industry here.
